COMPETITION WINNERS 6th December 2008 (COMPETITION NOW CLOSED)

Firstly, thank you to all the people that have entered the Competition to find the name for my Grizzle family I have been developing over the past five years. I have received over 130 named entries, a large number of them having great appeal. The 1st and 2nd places were chosen by myself and my wife Sammie. 3rd place was decided by my children after a short list had been chosen. Under the winning name I have inserted the first word of the email address used for the entry, for security reasons I have not included all of their email address. Will the winners please email me to confirm their prizes and selection.

Finally, once again well done to all who entered but especially well done to the WINNERS ! I hope your prizes of the young birds from this wonderful family give you as much enjoyment in the future as they have given me over the last few years.

3rd - Winning one early bred Young Birds - Websters "Ettington Blizzards",

email nicola..........Winning 1 pigeon from PAir 6 - Well done.

It has been a difficult job chosing the finalists, to briefly explain my decision for 1st place "Van de Azen" appealed so much due to the definition meaning "From the Aces" which sumed up exactly what I have been trying to achieve with my breeding. Only breeding off sons or daughters of winners, when paired to the winners themselves. Well done GLEN!

  "Papa" (Above)

My original grizzle cock. Brought for stock, still only a 2000 pigeon but everything in the Grizzle line has come through this pigeon and he is in the line some how. The only true long cast pigeon in the pen but beautifully balanced. Fantastic violet eye and super feathering. Been a tremendous breeder for me. Lovely cock, have to watch hime with the hens though as he does tend to rough them up a bit. Always Stock. Breeder of fabulous pigeons when paired to "Queenie"

  "The Red Grizzle 03" Cock-Stock retired racer,(Above)

Another great racer now at stock since 2007. So reliable as a pigeon except in his last race which was the Anchor Open at Hurley Common when he came back two days later having been hawked. Lovely pigeon in the hand, feather quality is unreal and will figure very heavily in the 2009 breeding programme. Always a super finisher to the loft.
