  6. Just wanted to say you've got a great site, and I love that you're a one man band as well. This information should really help people to know how to race pigeons It's too easy for people to lose touch with their pigeons if you've got someone who mucks them out and changes their grit and water (I'm surprised some people with big lofts don't forget how to hold a pigeon!). It's much more rewarding to have a winning pigeon that you have reared from nothing, isn't it!

  16. Hi mate.
Just to let you know how your birds did at the local show in Shipston. Entered 4 classes, old cocks, young cocks, old hens and young hens. Winning 3 of the classes and third in the other. Also winning best young bird and best in show. The old cocks was won by 600 cock and the young cocks won by a son of the 600 cock also winning best young bird and best in show. Young hens was won by the 22 hen and the 21 hen was second. All this was achieved when I was getting over a bout of flew, so just proves that good birds can be conditioned very easily.
Just goes to prove your birds not only race well but can also top the show pen aswell. Anyway thanks mate. Keep up the good work on the web site.

    Yours Paul.

  17. Hello mark and family.
Hope you had a great crimbo & new year.Mark the hen you donated to the roby flying club sale Liverpool. (and i purchased) is a cracker. Had the chance to have a look at her while pairing up, a beauty!!!!!!.the partnership who purchased the cock are pleased to.yours in sport Tom

  18. I bought a bird from Mark Webster from his auction on pigeon-chat. I believe I had paid a fraction of what he is worth and after viewing his site(REGULARLY!) I have realised that I have indeed got myself a bargain. The bird was sent to me in immaculate condition and his feathering really stands out, he is a lovely bird, from a top quality pairing.

With regards to the previous disagreements:
I have only just started up in pigeons, and I have been given some great stock birds from my uncle and some from a good friend of mine. I emailed Mark when I had bid on his birds asking for re-assurance to their fertility etc. He replied to me immediately with complete assurance and offered me a money back or swap guarantee. I lost the bidding on that hen and bought a cracking late-bred 08 cock instead.
Mark rang me up and sat on the phone for at least 20 minutes offering me advice and offered to breed me 2 young birds as I am a new starter. He offered to loan me a T3 clock as I may have needed one due to no one in my club racing ETS.....
All this to a lad he's never met(A SCOUSER TOO!) lol

Marks birds speak for themselves and Mark is a very genuine person.

Thank you for the help mate,

    Regards

  19. Having known you Mark through functions , auctions , gatherings etc i can honestly say you are 100% honest and trustworthy this with having not really spoken to you or been to your lofts (Would like to 1 day).
Mr P.Cooper must have been really silly in not saying yes to youngsters from you all i can say he must be mad!
Anyway cutting a long story short i think people that deal with Mark have a good deal from a top man and i understand why he is at the top of the sport in the Nationals.
Well done Mark! Keep up the Good work!

    Mark Latham.

P.S Would like to come and see you sometime in the flesh....

  20. Firstly thank you to my wife for dealing with this in my absence. I'm sorry you have had the stress of this today while I have been at work. To answer the ridiculous statement by Pete Cooper I have nothing to hide and anyone that knows me knows my character and how seriously I deal with my pigeons or related topics etc. I will explain this scenerio from the start, in winter 2004 I offered pigeons for Auction through the Warwickshire Federation, these were a number of Stock Pigeons and late breds. Some of the pigeons were sold for a fraction of their worth but the reason that they went through the Warwickshire Fed in the 1st Place was because 10% of the moneys raised was donated to the Federation. Plus Mickey Lennon donated his aucioneer fee also.

Mr P Cooper brought two pigeons a Blue Van Elsacker oringinal 026148706 Cock and a Blue Oringinal Filip de Prol hen 023126729 (a full sister to PIstol). Some time later P Cooper phoned to say he had had six clear eggs, I said this was strange as both had laid and filled eggs here althought they had never been paired together, I explained the cock was very mild mannered and was here getting knocked off while in the act etc. I suggested putting them in a section on his own etc and if this didnt work to call me back. He duly called back stating again the eggs were clear, I told him to bring them back and i would give him six youngbirds instead. When they arrived the pigeons were okay, no where near in the condition they were when they were purchased at the auction. They explained that late breds were no good to them so I said I would do some babies for them from the first round the following year. This they, P Cooper & Son appeared happy with.

The following year, on February 14th 2005, I went through a very messy closure with two of my business's which did cause a lot of stress and upset to myself and my family. Pigeons were the last thing on my mind. I had a phone call one day from Keith Arnold who is a friend of P Cooper and said P Cooper had been on the phone to him wondering were his six pigeons were, I explained I had forgotten with everything going on with the closures etc. I duly got his phone number from Keith and called P Cooper Junior, I didn't lie or make up a cock and bull story I told him the truth and explained with everything going on I had forgotten. I Said I had some eggs just hatching and he would be welcome to six of those, all off my stock. His reply to me was "dont bother, they will be too late -just forget it" and promptly hung up. I then phoned Keith Arnold back and told him the outcome and also said I can't believe he turned them down as they were from the stock pen, even one of "006" etc, wnner of 7 x 1sts.

THAT WAS IN 2005, I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM YOU SINCE OR YOUR SON, SO AS TO THIS SUDDEN OUT BURST ABOUT RIPPING YOU OFF AND YOU BEING A PENSIONER ETC IT IS RIDICULOUS, AS I SAID I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE AND EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT I DO FOR THE SPORT ETC. I GIVE PIGEONS AWAY ETC EVERY YEAR TO NEW STARTERS, FUND RAISING, AUCTIONS ETC. I AM SORRY THINGS DIDNT WORK OUT WITH YOUR AUCTION PURCHASES BUT AS A MATTER OF INTEREST THE COCK WENT TO DEAN CARTMELLS OF WORCESTER AND BRED 3 X 1ST WINNERS AND THE HEN IS STILL HERE AND HAS BRED 2 X 1ST PRIZE WINNERS !!

MARKS BIRDS ARE QUALITY AND HE TAKES GREAT PRIDE IN WHAT HE DOES AND ALL OTHER COMMENTS ON THIS WEBSITE REFLECT THIS!!! I WILL NOT SAY ANYTHING ELSE IN REPLY TO THIS, THAT IS FOR MARK TO DO!!!!!!!!

Now if they all fly like that, why I suppose I could quite easily find an extra perch or so going spare (Actually 30 vacancies at the moment, early spring-cleaning!) They look like working birds to me, the right sort. Cheers, Bill.

  73. Hi Mark
Thanks for looking after my birds for me last week while I was in Spain, but the main reason for my comment is to say many congratulations from Gill and myself on your terrific acheivement in winning the section and open averages in the Midland National, I know how much effort you put in to acheive this and I don't just mean this season, these things don't just come your way because of one good season, but through major effort and dedication to detail over many years in the selection of stock and in race preperation.
You winning these averages has of course made me look to my own preperation for next season ,and as you probably expected I'm gonna give it a go at trying to keep up with you next year. Or maybe overtake you 'hehe' it will be fun trying and I know you'll try your very best to beat me and all comers, as is your competitive nature, Well done mate and Good luck for the future.
