MERRY CHRISTMAS - I hope you all had a lovely day. Ours was lovely it was the first time since the children were born that we have been on our own. It was great just being the four of us.

Looking at the condition of the loft and with time I have etc i think I will be pairing up around the 7th to the 10th January give or take a day or two. I am really pleased with the birds but I have a few jobs that need to be taken care of first. I love this time of year, for me as with a lot of people breeding is Golden and racing is Silver. I love the excitment of the first egg, the first babies etc and just hope a lot of the yearlings settle down well. I had a fantastic lay and hatch last year with 82 eggs laid and 81 hatched so fingers crossed this year things will be the same.

like a lot of people I have so many jobs that need carrying out on and in the pen that I am hoping to try and get the majority of them done this Christmas break and crossed off the list. Although I will have to keep an eye on the time spent as I do need to strike the balance between time spent on the loft and the family over the break etc. As long as I can catch up with the jobs in the loft quickly, my thinking is that the external works can wait until the end of February, which will be the time I will be looking to let the hens out for some exercise on the good days. The cocks will follow some two weeks later in mid March.

Thank you for your continued support all with the site, I should be updating the site with a translation gadget soon which will help on some of my links. I am trying to find the best one that is easy to use as this is my main goal for my site. Simple and easy to navigate so people can get the most enjoyment. I have been very surprised by the amount of hits I have received and thank you to you all for that, I have had a lot people say they have saved the site to the favorites and do visit frequently, which for me is one of the best compliments I feel I could get so many thanks. Anyhow I hope you all have a great New Year and all the very best for 2009 with all your racing and goals etc.

Anyway thats it for now, I hope you enjoy your time viewing this site. I would like to say a big thank you to the people who have taken the time to write some lovely words, I have only had thirteen vistors to my loft and to date eleven of them have responded. A big thank you also to my wife for her ongoing patience and help with this project so far and to my children who have patiently watched and waited on occasions while I spend too much time at my desk.
